When you don't get flowers often
You may get overly excited when you do get them.
And in your eagerness to document, oh, the maybe fourth time your husband has ever given you flowers, you may just lock yourself out of your own apartment.
And you may just have to go wake up your Indian neighbor to call your mom for the spare keys.
And perhaps you MAY even be going commando under your sweatpants because you might just have returned from swimming and forgotten to bring certain underpants with you to the gym.
Not that any of this happened to me. Just saying...
Needless to say, we had a fun weekend, complete with a feast of cheese/chocolate fondue.
My dad made salmon steaks while Terah prepped the cheese with beer
Yum!

how to build a crib
or not. this is the story of this past weekend that was non-football related (and believe me, most of it was football relate).
so, we're probably waaaaaaaaay behind most of those uber-prepared, good, soon to-be parents in planning our baby's arrival into this world (note to future baby: we're a little bit sorry that you have no choice in choosing your parents. but, boy, are we happy about that!). to get us into gear, we decided to finally buy a crib to house this future munchkin. i asked why we couldn't just put a mattress on the floor, i mean, that's pretty luxurious for a baby, right? we could even get a pillow top one! but my wife seems convinced that this is not an acceptable form of storing a baby for the night. anyways, i cave in and we order a crib.
well, it arrives pretty soon right after we placed the order. i come back home one night from work and there's this huge box sitting right in front of our door. this was tuesday last week and we agree that i'll build the crib on saturday. so, naturally, i'm getting all psyched up all week. this will be my first true "fatherly" duty of many, many, many more, so i want to do a good job and make sure this little guy has a fun new home.
saturday comes and i start to open up the box and everything looks great... but, alas, one of the pieces is broken and now we have to get a replacement/new crib. one side benefit of the whole ordeal, though -- we cleaned up the baby's room and did some cleaning. so it wasn't totally wasted.
anyways, i saw that google ad during the super bowl (i know some are not a huge fan) but there's one part in that ad that reminded me of my weekend adventure.
that's it for my crib story. maybe i'll have a better one to tell next time.
