When Terah started sending me pictures like these during a work trip in the fall, I knew we had to go back.
Early morning at Año Nuevo
To get the kids psyched for our mini-trips over Christmas break, we had been telling them every morning, "Let's go on an adventure!" Well this day turned out to be just that. As I'm writing this, it occurs to me we have had quite the number of vomit stories on this blog (see here and here and here)...
About 20 minutes into our drive, Max pukes over everything. It was bad, even for us vomit veterans.
We decide to return home, give him a bath, switch out the carseat and get back on the road. I realize you don't do things like this until you have multiple children and just don't care anymore.
We arrive to a gorgeous day and had a happy picnic lunch.
Except see the vomit bowl and starving Max
Then on our way to reload the car before our walk, we discovered our camera was missing. After some frantic searching, Terah, on a whim, decides to run blindly down one of the trails hoping to locate the group of teenagers sitting next to us at lunch. About half a mile down, he locates them and gets our camera back from their chaperone. Yes!
We have dreams to take our kids on even bigger explorations, and days like these give me hope that we are getting closer to an age to being able to do that.
