"Mommy I want to hold baby"

This scene happens a lot around here...

Noah asks/demands to hold the baby.

Noah loses interest 0.002 seconds later.

Baby ends up like this.

Adult intervention is required.

Thoughts on potty training

We took the plunge on potty training back in December. A few things I've learned...

1. Six underwear is not enough. What was I thinking? It lasted us one morning. We now have 24.

2. Low expectations. At two and half, Noah was showing absolutely no signs of potty-training readiness. Having lazy parents didn't help. But you'd be surprised what sitting in wet underwear will motivate a child to do.

3. Favorite couch? It will get peed on.

4. Be suspicious. When he suddenly announces to you "I DON'T need to go potty," as he's sitting on your bed, he obviously has already gone.

5. Proud mama. It is quite amazing to watch their brain work from "I peed," to "I'm peeing," to "I need to pee."

6. And just when you think you're done. They pee in their pants and poop in their bed.

The end.

Day camp

"When the children visit their grandparents, we say going it's like day camp and coming home is boot camp."

Happy Easter and Thank You Michelle!

i haven't blogged in a while, but on this Easter Sunday, i wanted to make a special shout out to my wife and partner-in-crime. over the past 2 months, our lives have been completely turned upside-down with the little hurricane we call Max (AKA chunkster).

between sleepless nights and having to deal with a toddler who commands everyone like he owns them, Michelle has done such a wonderful job being a Mom and wife.

there are many times, where, being a clueless husband i have said the wrong thing at the wrong time and, of course, never expressed enough gratitude for all the things that she does (especially getting me to sleep early and providing wonderful naps on the weekends). so this post is dedicated to her and i know Noah and Max feel the same way, even if they can't say it as much. thank you Michelle!

and Happy Easter!
