Welcome to home ownership

We bought a townhouse! We moved, then closed, in that order (not advisable). We signed a whole bunch of paperwork and I read none of them, as all amazing attorneys should do.

Turns out our adventures with home ownership never cease to disappoint. Within a week, we were welcomed by this sight one evening:

That's looking from our front door. A large part of a huge white oak tree had completely crashed. These pictures don't do it justice, but the section of the tree that fell was enormous - it had provided shade for over half the units in our complex.

It's a little sad because it was a beautiful white oak and I had loved the views from our upstairs window...

But it's a good reminder that all things are temporary here on earth, even trees. And that homeowner associations come in handy for times like these when you don't have to deal with the aftermath!

Terah, this is a license to buy a chain saw. =D Be thankful though! A tree fell in my coworkers backyard and it cost $30K to clean it up (It was huge). Congratulations!
